We provide our employees with the tools and training to work safely every day.
Learning does not stop with graduation. To encourage professional development, S&ME’s Credential Incentive Program rewards eligible employees for new certifications, authoring technical papers, and presenting at professional seminars. S&ME also funds outside classes and holds in-house technical seminars. These internal events often qualify as professional development hours.
In an effort to Develop existing and future leaders for long-term success of the company S&ME offers two internal professional development groups.
- Future Leaders Investment Program (FLIP) Comprised of over 100 professionals across the company, FLIP promote professionalism and camaraderie across S&ME by creating a culture of investment, relationship-building, and career development.
- Leader Development Program (LDP) Created to meet the future leadership needs of the company, this small select group of employees participate in a yearlong development program. Training topics include communication, emotional intelligence, consultancy, ethics, time management, and strategic thinking. New LDP members are nominated annually, and the program’s goal is to prepare our employees for existing promotional and development career path alternatives, while leveraging and identifying new opportunities to advance in one’s career.
S&ME reinvests in the communities that we serve. We support nonprofits locally and also at a corporate level. In addition, S&ME provides opportunities for staff to volunteer at countless events from stream cleanups to engineering programs to help our youth. We believe that giving back to the community is essential to our company culture.
An employee stock ownership plan allows employees to directly benefit from company growth and profitability brought about through their own hard work. Since 1995, the S&ME Board of Directors has made annual contributions to the employee stock ownership plan to all eligible employees. S&ME employees are invested in the firm’s success.
S&ME is proud that its employee benefits package continues to stay competitive. The package includes a 401(k) retirement plan; an employee stock ownership plan; medical, dental and life insurance; and paid holiday, vacation and sick leave.
The Education Assistance Program provides employees tuition reimbursement for approved undergraduate and graduate level courses. Many S&ME staff earn higher level degrees through this program.
