Navaho Drive Sidewalk Extension

Working with Ramey Kemp as part of the GoRaleigh Passenger Amenity Program that works to connect public transit users in more locations across the Triangle, S&ME provided geotechnical services to extend the Navaho Drive sidewalk approximately 1,500 feet into the existing sidewalk at the intersection of Navaho Drive and Bush Street.

A 72-inch corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert will be extended to construct a new headwall. In addition, approximately 400- 500 LF of the sidewalk between Pinecrest Drive and Seminole Trail will be cut into an existing 2(H):1(V) slope which will require a new retaining wall to provide the 4 to 5 feet of grade separation.

Our team prepared a final structure foundation investigation report with recommendations based on field and laboratory findings.
