Myrtle Beach International Airport Terminal Expansion

Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), one of the nation’s fastest-recovering airports post-COVID, continues its upward trajectory with a major expansion of Concourse A. Now serving over 3.4 million passengers annually and home to ten airlines, including three added in recent years, MYR is poised to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population and booming tourism industry in the Grand Strand region.

The groundbreaking for the Concourse A expansion marks a transformative milestone in the airport’s history. Scheduled for completion in December 2025, the project is designed with phased milestones to minimize disruption while delivering a more modern, efficient, and comfortable passenger experience.

Once complete, the expansion will increase gate capacity from 12 to 18, unlocking new opportunities for airline partnerships and expanding MYR’s reach beyond its current 50+ nonstop destinations.

Travelers can look forward to:

  • Six additional gates, increasing operational capacity and reducing congestion
  • New, modern restrooms for enhanced comfort
  • Upgraded flooring for a fresh, contemporary feel
  • Exciting new dining options, bringing local flavor and national favorites to the terminal
  • Improved signage to make navigating the airport easier and more intuitive

S&ME is proud to provide geotechnical and environmental services for the project.
