S&ME performed a Geotechnical Landslide Evaluation in Wheeling, WV, consisting of a site reconnaissance, a review of available geologic information, 5 borings, 2 inclinometers, and 2 groundwater monitoring wells, instrumentation monitoring, laboratory testing, stability analyses, and a report that presented conceptual slope remediation alternatives. Alternatives presented included bench and regrade, bench with regrading and rockfill berm (approach chosen), and retaining wall. S&ME prepared the plans and specifications for the repair approach and provided on-site owner representation, oversight, and construction testing during repair work. The initial geotechnical evaluation began in April of 2018 and final construction was completed in December of 2018.
