Coast Guard Station and Pier – Dominica
The project involved construction of a new Coast Guard Station on Douglas Bay in the Parish of St. John in Dominica. The new station included a 4,000 sq. ft., two-story building, a concrete parking lot, a concrete driveway and boat ramp, a boat storage area, and a pier extending 164 ft (50 m) into the water.
A drill rig was mobilized from the United States to the site, and local resources were employed to provide surveying, clearing, and other support services.
Our team was involved in field exploration with soil test borings, rock coring, and geotechnical analyses. We also made recommendations for earthwork, soil and rock excavation, shallow foundations, seismic consideration, and lateral earth pressure parameters.
