The University of Tennessee Knoxville

S&ME has provided Environmental, Geotechnical, Construction Services across the University of Tennessee Knoxville Campus for more than 20 years. Members of our team attended the University of Tennessee and have worked on the UT campus for decades, giving us first-hand insight of the campus landscape, and how the area has transitioned over time. Our recent and ongoing projects across UT’s campus give us an excellent working knowledge of Hazardous Materials Assessment (HMA) and abatement needs as well as the site geology, subsurface conditions, and resulting foundation challenges. S&ME has conducted HMAs including asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, while supporting various project design teams involved in renovation or demolition projects on campus. S&ME has also prepared asbestos abatement specifications and other hazardous materials specifications for use prior to building renovation, repair, or demolition. S&ME personnel routinely sample for asbestos, lead paint, and catalog regulated materials, universal wastes and other potentially hazardous materials in the structures. S&ME has also provided underground storage tank assessments and remediation and assisted with environmental issues under various on-call contracts.
