Mike Rowland serves as the civil design Group Leader in the Columbus, Ohio office. He leads a team of engineers, geologists and designers who provide full design and construction administration services for geotechnical, environmental and water resource oriented projects such as dams, landfills, ash pond closures, revetments, abandoned mine land reclamation and flood protection. After working several summers as a field technician, Mike joined the firm as a professional in 1997 and spent for first half of his career providing traditional geotechnical services to industrial and transportation clients prior to moving into full design.
Nothing excites Mike more than being able to lead a diverse team of professionals through a challenging project, including meeting with owners and regulators to explain the nature of the work and elicit concurrence.
Mike is active in several professional organizations and currently serves as the President of the Ohio Dam Safety Organization. He also serves on the board of the Water Management Association of Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree in civil engineering from the University of Dayton and his MSCE from Purdue University.
