At the core of S&ME’s culture is an unconditional commitment to safety. Our journey to achieving an actively caring safety culture is marked with several initiatives that began with a formal safety management process review, followed by the development of our Safety Leadership Team and our Behavior Based Safety Program. All staff attend monthly safety meetings, complete safety observation checklists, and attend periodic formal training in defensive driving and other programs specific to their job. Our Safety Director and his team of dedicated safety professionals provide on-site observations, training, incident analysis and program feedback to field staff and supervisors.

S&ME reviews our safety program continually to keep our actively caring culture fresh. Through the years we have realized significant improvement in our safety metrics, an achievement that benefits our employees, our clients and our communities.
