Oviedo Medical Center Campus
S&ME provided master planning, civil engineering and landscape architectural services for HCA’s 48-acre medical campus in Oviedo, Florida. The master plan includes a hospital (up to 250 beds) and several medical office buildings (totaling up to 200,000 sq. ft.). The first phase of development included an 11,000 sq. ft. Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) that opened in 2013. In 2015, S&ME completed design and permitting efforts for the first major component of the master plan: an 82-bed hospital (roughly 160,000 sq. ft.) and a 40,000 sq. ft. medical office building. The grand opening was on January 30, 2017. Throughout the development, low-impact design elements were implemented to provide a sustainable and aesthetically-pleasing healthcare experience.
