Leira Douthat is S&ME’s Area Manager of Environmental Services in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio, where she provides leadership for operational staff across the region. Her experience as a former client manager strengthens Leira’s success of integrating client service and operations. She recognizes the importance of establishing a team of professionals dedicated to providing a high level of quality service to the client with a flexibility to meet the client’s growing needs.
Leira has a passion for helping fellow employees experience success as well – challenging them and devising opportunities that can stretch them and help them grow. As a member of the 2023 Strategic Planning Task Force Leira remains devoted to allowing our staff reach their full potential and can often be overheard encouraging young professionals to push themselves within each opportunity.
A graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a BS and MS degrees in biology, Leira has 30 years of professional experience. She started her career at S&ME in 1997 following her work for the state of Tennessee and other consultants in the environmental field. She established and managed the S&ME’s aquatic toxicology laboratory, and managed risk assessment and natural resources projects prior to building our relationships in the telecommunications industry.
