Jim Killingsworth has been with company since 1989 and has served in a management role for the past 26 years. He has been instrumental in growing environmental services throughout the lower part of South Carolina and beyond by striving for a diversity of services and expertise. Serving in his current role as Environmental Area Manager, Jim is responsible for the environmental service line within South Carolina. His technical expertise is consultation and remedial design for hazardous building materials, such as asbestos, lead-based paint, fuel storage tanks, mercury, and polychlorinated biphenyl sources. Jim has supported the major architectural and engineering firms with design services and technical support for hazardous material abatement/remediation for many notable renovation and demolition projects.
Jim considers it his job “to make the client look good and make their job a little easier.” After working for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and in his own small business, he strives to deliver a product that is focused on the client’s project goals while meeting regulatory requirements and “doing the right thing.”
A graduate of Winthrop University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Jim has been a Certified Hazardous Material Manager since 1997. He has received multiple Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies for projects involving hazardous building materials.
