ENGINEERING TESTING AND INSTRUMENTATION
Field CBR, LBR and Plate Load Testing to develop pavement design parameters for flexible and rigid pavement systems used in airports, highways, parking areas and other pavement structures.
Pile Load Testing to provide design load capacities and pile driving criteria for the installation of production piles. Pile load tests may be either static or dynamic and may determine both vertical and horizontal loading capacity. S&ME has expertise with dynamic pile driving analysis using our Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA). We have served as a consultant for highway departments on PDA analysis.
Slope Inclinometer and Settlement Observations to provide ground movement (lateral and vertical) data for evaluation of the performance of slopes, embankments, and foundation systems. Slope inclinometers and settlement monuments may be installed and observed by S&ME personnel or observed by S&ME as independent consultants.
Crack and Deflection Monitoring to provide data relative to structural movements during and after construction. Crack and deflection monitoring devices may consist of direct measurement strain, wire-line, or electronic strain gauges.
