GEOTECHNICAL EXPLORATION

S&ME provides quality cost-effective solutions for many exploration needs. Over 20 drilling units throughout the company are on call to S&ME locations across six states. Exploration methods include standard penetration testing, cone penetrometer testing, diamond core drilling and air-rotary drilling.

During construction, S&ME engineers and technicians perform a variety of in situ testing to provide our clients with information regarding project specifications and requirements. Tests include in-place density testing of soil fill, California Bearing Ratio testing to determine pavement support characteristics, electrical resistivity testing to determine grounding parameters and dynamic cone penetrometer testing of bearing conditions at footing locations.

We also provide seismic cone penetration testing, flat blade dilatometer testing, pressuremeter testing, and field-screening for groundwater and soil.
