DRILLING SERVICES

We operate one of the largest drilling operations of its kind in the Southeast, making possible many of our field-exploration activities. These range from conventional geotechnical exploration and specialty testing to some of the most advanced and sensitive types of environmental drilling and sampling.

We provide soil test borings, monitoring well and recovery well installation, wireline and conventional coring, packer testing and GeoProbe and Hydropunch groundwater sampling. These services can be performed in practically any terrain or geologic formation using hollow-stem augers and mud rotary, air rotary and rock coring techniques. We also own and operate a static cone penetration testing rig which can test for pore pressure measurement, in situ, and shear wave surveys. Additionally, we have extensive experience in Type II, Type III, recovery, injection and sparg wells. 

S&ME drill rigs are mounted on a variety of carriers. We have barges which allow drilling within navigable waters, low-ground contact-pressure equipment to access swamp and marsh areas, skid-mounted drills, and all-terrain and truck-mounted rigs.
