NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
Wetlands Assessments to identify and delineate the extent of a site's wetlands based on state and federal classification criteria. We also develop and implement mitigation plans to restore, enhance or replace (according to section 404/10 permitting) wetlands impacted by a project.
Ecological Studies to assess your site's terrestrial and aquatic ecology, and habitat suitability index. We can perform endangered species and cultural resources surveys, impact assessments and benthic macro-invertebrate sampling for stream monitoring.
NEPA: Environmental Impact Studies, Environmental Assessments on the potential for environmental impacts from activities on a site, as required by Federal or State permits. This includes terrestrial and aquatic ecology studies, evaluation of impacts on value, restoration plans, and natural resources damage assessments.
Stream Assessments and Restoration using Rosgen techniques; i.e., “Natural Stream Design/Fluvial Geomorphology". Restoring streams using Rosgen morphology to stabilize streams and address sedimentation/erosion issues and assisting in the design and implementation of stream restoration and habitat mitigation.
Federal, State and Local Regulatory Permitting assistance including: stream restoration, wetland fill/dredge authorizations, wetland/stream mitigation plans, state and federal Clean Water Act Section l, and 401 certifications and riparian buffer rules.
Wetland/Stream Mitigation Banking by identifying potential properties, developing and assisting in the preparation of mitigation banking instruments, and supporting of bank establishment with fieldwork.
S&ME provided recommendations that reduced the impact on local wetlands on the Conway by-pass project.
