FOUNDATION CONSTRUCTION REVIEW AND OBSERVATION
Plans and Specifications Review of the intended foundation support design for subsurface conditions and proposed procedures for your project's foundation.
Shallow Spread Footing and Mat Foundation observation to evaluate subgrade soils within footing excavations, based upon soil conditions and project plans; may include observation along with dynamic cone penetrometers, in-place density tests and/or excavations.
Caisson Installation Observations typically involve assessing the diameter and depth (or elevation) of the caisson (both the shaft and the bell) and the foundation bearing materials.
Pile Installation Observation to assist in evaluating the load bearing of each pile. This may include comparing the driving resistance during pile installation to the calculated driving resistance (based on empirical pile driving formulas) or by using dynamic measuring devices such as a pile driving analyzer (PDA) or by pile load tests after installation of indicator piles.
Post-Construction Evaluation to assess foundation integrity; or to evaluate the causes of excessive post-construction movement. This may involve exposing foundation bearing soils by excavation and testing the subgrade as well as the performance of test borings adjacent to affected foundations.
