Belmont University Gordon Inman Science Center

This 71,000 SF multi-lab and classroom science building for Belmont University was needed to house all the programs of Belmont’s College of Health Sciences & Nursing under one roof. The facility also includes the University’s social work, occupational and physical therapy programs. Given the steep slope, the design challenges were considerable.  Working as part of the design team, S&ME professionals resolved a number of engineering issues related to site grading and drainage.  In addition, utility design, sediment and erosion control, stormwater detention design, and off-site improvements were critical to success. The project also involved construction of a 140,000 SF underground parking garage. The project cost was approximately $22.5 million.
