Rolling Mill Hill Redevelopment

The transformation of the 34 acre Rolling Mill Hill site into a vibrant mixed-use community along the Cumberland River is a vital part of the continued resurgence of downtown Nashville. Our professionals assisted the Metropolitan Development & Housing Agency (MDHA) along with private developers in several phases of this planned residential community along the Cumberland River. S&ME professionals provided site construction documents inclusive of infrastructure utilities for Phase I of the project site including the design of all the water, sewer, and stormwater on approximately 8 acres, along with associated streets.

S&ME professionals also provided streetscape design and intersection improvements for the Rolling Mill Hill Greenway Extension and Hermitage Avenue Reconstruction. The project includes the design and development of a multi-use greenway along the eastern edge of the Cumberland River. The greenway encourages local residents to utilize alternative transportation choices to convenient Downtown attractions.

Our professionals provided civil engineering design services for the construction of Nance Place, a mid-rise urban wrap apartment building. Nance place received LEED Platinum Certification. Civil design services were also provided for the conversion of the historical Trolley Barns into a mixed-use center.
