George Kramer, AICP, LEED AP, Director of Planning in the S&ME Orlando office details his latest research of planning for the future of autonomous vehicles in our environments. The white paper, “Planning for Proliferation of Autonomous Vehicles and its Impact on the Future of Urban Mobility,” gives an overview of the current and future AV developments, suggests areas where the most immediate needs will be, and also ways to plan ahead as we design for future infrastructure. The findings offer insight as to how quickly the technology is outpacing the regulations among us and specific ways we can begin to think about the future of urban mobility planning efforts.
