Vaughn Wins JRB Young Professional of the Year Award
Jason Vaughn, who joined S&ME in 2005, is an excellent example of what this award stands for. He has demonstrated a commitment to safety, technical excellence, and client service in everything he does for S&ME. He plays a leadership role at Spartanburg and is involved in multiple service lines, including construction materials testing and inspection, geotechnical explorations, natural resources, and industrial hygiene.
Jason has served as assistant construction services manager and project manager, and he currently manages the Natural Resources/Industrial Hygiene Department. He is project manager for multiple clients including a university, a regional hospital, and a county school district.
His ability to manage priorities, organize and communicate the constantly changing services offered by the branch has resulted in the successful completion of many projects and repeat business. His hands-on approach, attention to detail, and active communication style have solidified S&ME as the “preferred provider” in our area.
Jason is active in numerous professional organizations and holds leadership positions in many, including ASFE, NSPE, and FCLU. He stays involved in many local professional groups, and was the regional representative of the ASFE “Fundamentals of Professional Practice” program in 2008-2009. Jason always steps up to the challenge with a determined spirit and focus. He is willing to go the extra mile for our clients and S&ME.
The John R. Browning, PE, Young Professional of the Year Award, honors John Browning, a past S&ME president, because of his intense commitment and work toward the development of young professionals in our company. As John once put it, “Our young professionals are vital to the success of S&ME.” This award is presented each year at the S&ME technical conference.
