S&ME names field exploration manager for Raleigh operations

Raleigh - S&ME, Inc., a Raleigh-based engineering and environmental firm, has announced that Timothy J. Cleary has been appointed Field Exploration Services Manager of the company’s Raleigh branch.

Cleary will also continue to coordinate S&ME’s Field Exploration service line and chair the company’s Field Exploration Technical Committee.

Cleary, who has a B.S. degree in geology from State University of New York at Oswego, has 17 years of drilling, field exploration and related experience, nine of them with S&ME. He is highly experienced in auger and mud rotary drilling, direct push technologies and shallow and deep groundwater explorations.

Cleary has managed similar services for S&ME’s Charleston, South Carolina branch. He is on the board of directors of the National Drillers Association and chairs that organization’s training committee. He is also on the Writing and Steering Committee of the National Highway Institute/Federal Highway Administration’s Subsurface Investigation Qualification Program.

S&ME, founded in Raleigh in 1973, employs 840 professional and support staff in 22 offices in 7 southeastern states. It is listed in Engineering-News Magazine’s 2007 Top 100 engineering design firms. In the past dozen years, S&ME has won 60 Engineering Excellence Awards from state organizations of the American Council of Engineering Companies.
