S&ME names construction services manager in Wilmington

Wilmington, NC – A materials-engineering staff professional has been promoted to construction services manager for the Wilmington branch of S&ME, Inc., an award-winning engineering and environmental firm with 21 offices in the Southeast.

Nathan P. Buffum, a highly experienced project manager was named to the position by Branch Manager Randy Martin, P.E.

Buffum joined S&ME at its Raleigh branch six years ago and has provided project management, and on-site testing and evaluations for large projects including a major hotel, office buildings, Wal-Mart stores and other commercial buildings, and airport roadways. S&ME Vice President Wes Lowder said Buffum has excelled in project management.

Buffum holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Buffalo, and has participated in a number of continuing education courses in construction materials services.

S&ME, founded in Raleigh in 1973, employs 800 professional and support staff. In the Wilmington region, it has provided engineering and other services for the NC Ports Authority, Camp Lejune, NC Department of Transportation, New Hanover Medical Center, UNC-Wilmington and numerous residential and commercial developers.
