S&ME expands services, adds new professionals in Asheville

Asheville, NC – Two professionals have joined the Asheville branch of S&ME, bringing new service capabilities with them.

David Loftis, P.E. has transferred from S&MEs Greensboro branch and will be responsible for managing S&MEs environmental consulting services in western North Carolina. Matt McCurdy, P.E. is a geotechnical engineer.

Loftis has extensive experience providing environmental consulting services in North Carolina, including environmental site assessment, remediation system design and hydrogeologic studies. He holds both an M.S. and B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech.

McCurdy has previously managed geotechnical exploration and construction testing projects in the Atlanta, GA area, including project management for the redevelopment of a 40-acre brownfield site into a mixed use retail, office and residential development in downtown Atlanta. He earned both his M.S. and B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama.

S&ME, founded in 1973, employees 750 professional and support staff in the Southeast and has provided engineering and environmental services for numerous major projects in the Asheville area.
