Engineering firm takes over larger quarters

Raleigh, NC – Engineering and environmental firm S&ME, Inc., has moved its headquarters and Raleigh branch operations into a 32,000-square-foot building at 3201 Spring Forest Road.

S&ME, founded and headquartered in Raleigh since 1973, employs over 700 professional and support staff in 20 offices in North and South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. S&ME is ranked in the top 100 “pure design” engineering firms in the U.S. by Engineering News Magazine.

The Raleigh segments of the company had been housed in three separate nearby locations for the past six years, with corporate staff in one, environmental in another and geotechnical and construction materials services in a third. Company growth required larger facilities and the move the new facilities was recently completed. The building houses offices, training and conference rooms, and laboratories for testing a variety of materials. A separate building, under construction, will house shop and maintenance facilities for heavy equipment such as drill rigs.

S&ME President John R. Browning said the new location enhances the company’s abilities to serve Triangle area clients and support operations in the firm’s six-state region. More than 100 employees are based in the new location.
