Boles named manager of S&ME-Tri-Cities

Blountville, TN – Daniel R. Boles has been named branch manager of the Tri-Cities branch of S&ME, Inc., an engineering and environmental firm that has operated a Blountville office for 27 years.

Boles succeeds James Belgeri, an S&ME vice president who opened the branch in 1978. Belgeri has recently managed the operations on an interim basis and now resumes his roles as senior technical consultant and director of field exploration.

Boles, was manager of S&ME’s Asheville, North Carolina branch for the last four years. In that role he managed extensive engineering services on the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino. He is highly experienced in geotechnical engineering and construction services in mountainous geologic and hydrogeologic conditions similar to the Tri-Cities area.

In the last three years, his office won three Engineering Excellence Awards, presented by the NC chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies for major projects faced with complex terrain and subsurface challenges. Boles joined S&ME in 1999 as a geotechnical department manager after nine years of pervious experience. A registered professional engineer, his B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering, are from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Boles has managed numerous projects for commercial, hotel and casino, condominium, cellular tower, university and other facilities. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has published several professional papers.
