Released, 6/16/05
Raleigh, NC – Randall Neuhaus, who has served S&ME, Inc. for 17 years as a branch manager, regional manager, vice president and board member, has been appointed the company’s executive vice president. The position has been vacant since John Browning was promoted to S&ME president in 2001.
S&ME, headquartered in Raleigh, is an engineering and environmental services firm with 650 employees in 19 offices in the Southeast. Neuhaus opened the firm’s Knoxville, Tennessee office in 1988 and was branch manager until 2002 at which time he was promoted to regional manager of S&ME’s Tennessee operations. During his tenure in Knoxville, the branch developed into a staff of over 70 professionals and support staff with a major testing lab.
Neuhaus played a major role in S&ME’s acquisition of Singleton Labs, an area testing laboratory that had served the Tennessee Valley Authority for decades. He lead S&ME in completing thousands of projects for area commercial, manufacturing, health care, utility, airport, highway and landfill facilities. The branch also opened a satellite office in Sevierville, Tennessee in 2000.
Neuhaus was named a vice president in 1998 and elected to the board of directors in 2001. He is relocating to Raleigh.
Browning praised Neuhaus as an excellent engineer and manager who focuses on the needs of S&ME’s clients and staff. “He is so well experienced in the services we provide,” Browning said, “and at the same time has developed business skills that will greatly help us to continue to grow and prosper.”
S&ME is on Engineering News-Record Magazine’s (ENR) Top 100 Pure Design Firms list and over the last decade has won more than 50 Engineering Excellence Awards, presented by state chapters of the American Council of Engineering Companies.
