S&ME adds environmental scientist to Wilmington branch
For immediate release

Wilmington, NC – S&ME, Inc., an award-winning engineering, testing and environmental consulting firm, has added an environmental scientist to its Wilmington branch.

Paul Masten’s experience includes permitting of coastal public and private infrastructure and development projects. At S&ME, Masten will serve as an environmental professional and natural resources department manager. His BA degree in environmental sciences is from the University of Virginia.

His work in the Wilmington area includes storm water monitoring, erosion and sedimentation control compliance, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, managing underground storage tank closure projects, North Carolina Coastal Area Management Act permitting, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit compliance monitoring, wetland delineations, permitting and mitigation planning.

After the 9/11 terrorists attacks, Masten was part of the emergency environmental/health and safety response team for the Pentagon, and participated in hazardous material inspection of wreckage from the World Trade Center.

S&ME has operated a Wilmington office since 1977 and has completed thousands of environmental and development-related projects in eastern North Carolina for commercial, industrial, institutional, military and federal, state and local governmental agencies.
